Cookie Dough Energy Bites

Cookie Dough Energy Bites

These cookie dough energy bites are addictive plus gluten-free, dairy-free, no added sugar, vegan and delicious! As always use organic ingredients. If you don’t have a plant-based protein powder, I’d be happy to share mine as it contains clean ingredients and it’s high fiber full of 20+ organically grown plants. Check it out here and save $10 off your first order of clean plant-protein.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 c coconut oil, melted
  • 4 scoops or 2 servings of vanilla plant-based protein powder
  • 1-2 Tablespoons plant-based milk (like almond, coconut, soy, etc) or enough to make a batter-like consistency
  • 1/4 c dairy-free mini chocolate chips like Enjoy Life brand

Mix the first three ingredients together and when thoroughly blended, add the chocolate chips. Roll into bite-sized balls and store them in the refrigerator. Good luck in making them last. You may need to double the ingredients next time! Stay healthy.

**Another variation I’ve made is to use the chocolate protein powder and substitute one scoop of protein powder with one scoop of organic peanut butter powder.

OMG-Painted toes on Weigh Scale

5 Tips To Move the Scale

Here are my Top 5 Tips To Move the Scale. At some point on your journey, you just say ENOUGH! The definition of insanity is doing the same thing (eating, moving, drinking) and expecting different results. So, I did some things differently to help shift the scale. I got some help and I learned what wasn’t working.

I’m happy to say that I’m a loser. I lost four pounds in 14 days. So, what did I do and what did I learn?

I’ll share first what I learned and then what I did.

1. I learned that I was snacking way too often and used it as an excuse that I was grazing. I was really eating out of boredom, stress or avoiding some hard things that I must do being a business owner. As much as I love what I do, there are still the hard things.

2. Snacking and having sweets after supper. Once I stopped eating after supper, (I used the no eating after 6:30 pm rule), I felt better and slept better. To help, I brushed my teeth right after supper to help avoid temptation.

3. I needed to move my body every day instead of 3-4 times per week. I didn’t do anything extreme or high intensity, just walking, Pure Barre, and light weights. It’s always fun to get a friend involved to keep me motivated.

4. I made my mind up to just do it. I didn’t make excuses and I set expectations. I told my husband there would be no dining out during the 14 days. The man lives to go out on Saturday evenings, but he was a great support.

5. I ate until I was satisfied instead of until I was full. When you reach fullness, you’ve most likely eaten too much.

So, what did I do to lose the weight? Well, honestly, I used a lot of products because I was utilizing all the tools I had. I was pulling out all the stops!

First, I eliminated all dairy, gluten, eggs, starches, and nightshades along with processed foods and of course the ultimate evil, sugar! Note, this was only for fourteen days. However, I highly recommend staying away from gluten, sugar, and dairy on a consistent basis which is what I have done for years. Although sugar enters in and out of my diet occasionally.

I made simple meal combinations of grilled organic chicken with vegetables, protein shakes each morning with greens, green powder, and small amounts of fruit. And of course, salads! I had all veggie salads, salads with chicken, and fish tacos on gluten-free wraps.

I had been using the Lean Body System from Modere for the past four months so continued with it. It consists of Trim, Burn, and a 3 Day Detox. The Lean Body System is super simple and the most difficult part is determining which flavor! Benefits of Trim (clinical strength CLA) include: inhibits fat storage, improves muscle tone, and restores youthful skin.

Flavors of the Trim product

I also used the OmniCleanse Detox Kit which is a 14-day system. It’s as simple as taking a couple of capsules and the homeopathic drops throughout the day and was the perfect support to the Lean Body System. Contact us to obtain these healthcare professional-grade products at a discount.

It was so encouraging to see the scale move. My clothes had been fitting better but I needed to see this weight shift as well. I have an important date coming up in October so want to look and feel my best. It’s my son’s wedding day and I get a little emotional just thinking about it. I’m very excited for him and to gain a beautiful daughter-in-law.

I am so blessed to have access to some of the best products on the planet. And remember, I research for safety and purity, so you don’t have to. Let me know if I can help you and we always share discounts with friends and followers. We have an even bigger discount for military and first responders.

A Simple Weight Loss Strategy

How to Lose Weight Without Dieting

Many women accept their weight because of their age especially if they are over forty. Some may use their age as a reason why they have lost all control of their body (and sometimes their mind!).  I’m here to tell you that you can be at your ideal weight no matter what your age.

I know because I did it in my forties and it was a pretty simple process if you take one step at a time.

First step is to eliminate processed food. I chose REAL, WHOLE foods grown naturally or certified organic and preferably non-GMO. Eliminating pesticides and herbicides reduces the toxic load to your body. Besides what is excess weight? Mostly toxins.

Second step is to eliminate or reduce gluten and dairy.

Next, I learned portion control. I used a measuring cup instead of a serving spoon. I would play a game that if I normally ate one cup (if that were a suggested serving size), I would cut the amount down by a third.

A majority of the time I was more than satisfied which brings us to the next key to weight loss, satiation. Satiation means learning to eat until satisfied instead of until you are full. Most people eat until they are full which means you have over eaten. Eat your one serving, put your plate in the dishwasher and step away from the food sources. Let your food digest by resting for 10-20 minutes and go for a family walk.
However please note that I NEVER deprived myself and listened to my body. If I truly needed more food, I ate it. If I had an intense workout and my body needed fuel, I fed it with whole, clean food.

Hydration is key and tracking your daily intake helps as few people are properly hydrated and many are severely dehydrated. Water is the best method to remove toxins from the body and also creates a feeling of fullness. It can provide us with energy and so we rely less on food to provide. What I had to learn is the difference between hunger and thirst, which can be a bit tricky at first.  Drink purified water all day long by carrying a water bottle with you everywhere.

Eating raw foods with my meal or preferably before the meal like a small salad or a handful of raw veggies is beneficial for a couple of reasons.

First benefit is that raw foods contain live enzymes. Most women over 40 have a diminished ability to produce enzymes which connects back to excess weight. A lack of digestive enzymes means your food isn’t breaking food into nutrients to be assimilated and isn’t allowing proper elimination (constipation).

Second, statistically, we know that consuming a small salad before a meal cuts down your caloric intake by 15%. Just remember to pass on the conventional salad dressing laden with fat and preservatives by making your own. Request my free recipe book if you need ideas.

Another simple tip is to replace a meal with a plant-based (not whey) non-GMO, gluten-free protein drink.  The statistics here again tell us this is a good way to reduce weight assuming it is a quality source.  I use and recommend Modere Pure Vanilla Meal Replacement Powder.

Next is the dreaded requirement of weight loss: exercise. I prefer to call it FSA (fun, sweaty activity). Find something to do that is fun and makes you sweat.  Yoga is something that I really love along with hiking with my family and bulldog. When you find something you love, it’s no longer grueling or hard.

A few things I did NOT do are count calories or points or add toxic “weight-loss” products into my body. Counting things doesn’t teach you how to listen to your body or how to enjoy whole foods and life while achieving your wellness goals. Putting more toxins in your body from dangerous weight-loss products will create much bigger health issues down the road.  God gave us everything we need in nature to keep our bodies balanced.

Most importantly, I stopped worrying about what people would think if I didn’t eat the same things they did. I respected myself and the body God gave me and decided to finally treat it like a temple (and stop treating it like a garage).

I’m in my early 50’s and have more energy and feel better now than I ever did in my 30’s.
