Have you ever stopped and wondered why you feel so busy and exhausted all the time, even when you haven’t done anything out of the ordinary?
I listened to an audio recently by Valorie Burton called How Did I Get So Busy?, and one part really stayed with me.
She said busyness is often rooted in fear.
Not fear in a dramatic way. But in the quiet thoughts many women carry every day.
What if I say no and disappoint someone?
What if I slow down and fall behind?
What if people stop needing me?
So instead, we keep going.
We stay busy.
And after a while, it just becomes how we live.
Why women feel so busy and exhausted
Most women I talk to aren’t busy because they want to be.
They’re busy because they care.
They care about their families.
They care about doing a good job.
They care about helping others.
But somewhere along the way, they stop taking care of themselves.
They push through the fatigue.
They eat on the run.
They tell themselves they’ll rest later.
And their body keeps the score.
This is often when women start noticing:
-
Constant fatigue
-
Poor sleep
-
Digestive issues
-
Hormone imbalance
-
Feeling like they’re running on empty
It doesn’t happen overnight.
It happens slowly from living in constant motion.
Being busy doesn’t mean you’re living well
This was something I had to learn myself.
This year, my goal is to do less.
Not because I don’t care. But because I know I can’t help anyone if I’m completely worn down.
Being busy can make you feel productive.
But it doesn’t always mean you’re doing what matters most.
There’s a difference between a full life and an overloaded life.
One gives you energy.
The other drains it.
You can step out of the busyness cycle
If you’re always busy and exhausted, the answer isn’t pushing harder.
It’s being more intentional.
That might look like:
Going to bed earlier instead of finishing one more task.
Saying no without feeling like you owe an explanation.
Taking time to sit, pray, walk, or just be still.
Planning real meals instead of grabbing whatever is quick.
These simple things help your body recover.
And when your body recovers, everything improves.
Energy.
Sleep.
Mood.
Digestion.
Clear thinking.
This is where real change begins
Many women assume feeling busy and exhausted is just part of getting older.
It isn’t.
It’s often a sign your body has been under stress for too long.
When you support your body and create space to recover, you start to feel noticeable improvement in your energy and daily life.
This is exactly what I help women work through.
