Are you Enzyme Deficient?

Are you Enzyme Deficient?

Probably! Consumers spend over 80 billion dollars per year to relieve heartburn, excess acid, bloating and other symptoms of indigestion.  Fatigue, diarrhea, constipation, gas, headaches, colon problems, hardening of the arteries, and elevated cholesterol are signs that stem from a shortage of enzymes.  All of the symptoms can be linked to poor digestion.  If allowed to progress, chronic degenerative diseases may develop.  If you have any of these signs or symptoms, you may already be enzyme deficient.

What are Enzymes? Enzymes are the key to life!  They are the workers that ensure your body will function.  There are hundreds of thousands of enzymes active in every organ, tissue and fluid, which has its own function.  Enzymes activate our muscles, stimulate our nerves, allow our heart to beat, keep us breathing and even help us think!  These substances also convert nutrients from food to our bodies.

The 3 types of Enzymes are:

1.  Food enzymes (found in all RAW food)

2. Digestive enzymes (secreted by the body to digest food)

3. Metabolic enzymes (run other biochemical processes)

What do Enzymes do? Plant enzymes are the key to bringing the plant to maturity or ripeness.  The enzymes are released by either chewing or cutting the plant.  In order for enzymes to work properly three conditions must be present: the appropriate amount of water, the proper temperature and the correct pH (acid or alkaline) and something to digest. The body receives enzymes every time raw food is eaten.  God/Nature put enzymes in raw food to aid in the digestive process so that the body’s enzymes would not have to do all the work.  (“Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing.” Ezekiel 47:12)

So Why do you Need Enzymes? If you eat food that has been cooked, steamed, pasteurized, or microwaved, you need Enzymes!  Heat destroys enzymes.  When food enzymes are missing, our body is forced to do all the work and this puts undue stress on the digestive organs.  These organs then must rob enzymes from the immune system to digest your food.  Robbing from our immune system is NOT a good thing!
