Plate of black bean lentil tacos on a plate

Black Bean Lentil Tacos

Black bean lentil tacos are a high-fiber meatless alternative to traditional tacos. They are also more economical and quicker to prepare than meat tacos.

I wanted to share my favorite brand of gluten-free wraps. They are Siete brand and found in the refrigerated section of your healthier grocery store. They also have chickpea and almond flour versions.

Seite brand cassava gluten free wraps

Or instead of using gluten-free wraps, I love this on a bed of greens, organic of course. It can always be served over organic rice or quinoa as a taco bowl.  Speaking of, like always, use organic ingredients to lower your toxic load.

Being primarily dairy-free is important to me as well so I use many of the products from Follow Your Heart. We love their sour cream and cheeses. Pepper Jack is my favorite version but they have a variety of other dairy-free flavors including cheddar, mozzarella and gouda.

Follow Your Heart Dairy Free Pepper Jack Cheese

Ingredients

1 small onion diced, 1/3 cup

2 cloves garlic, minced

3/4 tsp cumin

1/2 tsp chili powder

1/2 tsp salt

3 cups cooked green lentils (1 cup dry)

1 can (15 oz) black beans, rinsed and drained

1/3 cup salsa

2/3 cup low-sodium vegetable broth

Gluten-free taco shells or wraps.

Optional toppings: tomato, lettuce, avocado, dairy-free sour cream, cilantro, olives

Directions

Heat half the broth over medium-high heat in a large skillet. Add and saute the onions for 6-7 minutes.

Add garlic, cumin, chili powder, and salt. Heat for 2-3 minutes.

Reduce heat to low and add lentils and black beans. Stir all to combine.

Add salsa and vegetable broth. Stir and heat for about 5 minutes. Add remaining broth if necessary to keep it creamy.

Spoon into a taco shell or on a bed of greens. Add toppings of your choice.

Makes 6-8 servings or tacos.

Note: Taco seasoning can be made up in advance. I purchase organic bulk herbs from Mountain Rose Herbs and save so much money.

What is Mental Fitness

What is Mental Fitness

What is mental fitness?

It’s a new concept in health called mental fitness. It’s the percentage of time your mind is serving you versus sabotaging you.

Independent researchers have validated the PQ (Positive Intelligence Quotient)  Score to be the single greatest predictor of how much of your potential for both success and happiness you achieve.

Research has shown that higher PQ results in enhanced immune system functioning, lower levels of stress-related hormones, lower blood pressure, less pain, fewer, colds, better sleep in a smaller likelihood of having hypertension, diabetes, or strokes.

What Is Mental Fitness?

Stanford lecturer and best-selling author Shirzad Chamine has developed a program and book called Positive Intelligence®. Your Positive Intelligence quotient, or ‘PQ’, is a measure of your mental fitness. PQ measures the percentage of time your mind is serving you versus sabotaging you. Independent researchers have validated PQ Score to be the single greatest predictor of how much of your potential for both success and happiness you achieve.

According to Shirzad, 80% of us score below the minimum level of mental fitness required for peak performance and happiness.

But the good news is that mental fitness can be significantly improved with just 6 weeks of daily practice. Shirzad tells us that doing 100 PQ reps a day to build mental muscles (essentially, creating new neural pathways) is the equivalent of taking 10,000 steps a day for physical fitness or weight training by doing reps with a dumbbell.

Helping every human build mental fitness so they can fulfill their true potential for both happiness and contribution.

How is PQ different from other programs including meditation or mindfulness?

PQ Treat Root Cause, not Symptoms

The factor analysis research has revealed the foundational root-level enablers and disablers of optimal performance and well-being. We rewire the brain at the root cause level.

PQ Focuses on Habit Formation

Most training results in short-lived improvements. For sustained results, we focus on building neural pathways that form lasting new habits. That’s why we call this “mental fitness”.

PQ Develops all 3 Core Muscles

Mental fitness requires 3 core muscles. Saboteur Interceptor, Self-Command, and Sage. Meditation only focuses on Self-Command, which is why it is not sustained by most.

An analysis of more than 200 scientific studies, which collectively tested more than 275,000 people, concluded that higher PQ leads to higher salaries and greater success in the areas of work, marriage, health, sociability, friendship, and creativity.

Daily Practice with the App

PQ app

The PQ app includes a mental fitness gym to offer a variety of PQ exercises using different senses. There are exercises for sitting or walking and they vary in length from 2 to 12 minutes. The app tracks your daily progress so you can check your progress against the targets for creating new neural pathways. It also gives you a daily focus of the day to guide your practice incrementally over 6 weeks.

15 minutes/day of app-guided practice enables you to establish mental muscles (neural pathways). These exercises are bite-sized to fit your busy schedule and customized based on how you self-sabotage.

You may be asking, is this the right program for me?

This is the right program for you if you are:

  • Committed to improving your performance and effectiveness dramatically while reducing stress
  • Looking for a science-based and trusted system to make it stick
  • Willing to put in the initial effort to rewire years of mental habits that don’t serve you

Take the Mental Fitness or PQ Assessment

The PQ program has been transformational for my personal and professional life as well as for my clients. If you’d like to learn more about PQ, or test your levels, you can do so here. If you have questions or want to be added to the waitlist, drop a comment below. I only run the program a few times a year and limit the program to 10 members.

When you take the assessment, I’d love to hear your results.  Better yet, schedule a free Wellness Strategy Session to learn more.

Naturopath with Client

Difference between Naturopathic and Allopathic Doctors

You may be curious about the difference between Naturopathic and Allopathic doctors.

There is absolutely a need for both in the world. Allopathic doctors prescribe medications and can perform procedures and surgeries. Their consultation is typically much shorter with regards to patient time which averages about 10 minutes per person. Conventional doctors are critical when it comes to acute (emergency) care.

Naturopathic doctors may or may not be licensed depending on their education. Naturopaths typically spend between 30-60 minutes per client or patient.  They understand the importance of diet (whole, clean food) and the impact on preventing disease. Naturopaths are a great resource to find root causes and natural solutions to your health issues to prevent disease. Many people I see are not getting the results from their conventional doctor.

Here are a few examples of what a Naturopath would recommend versus a conventional medical doctor.

  1. A Naturopath may tell you to take magnesium instead of OTC stool softeners (which dehydrates the bowel).
  2. Naturopathic doctors may tell you to change your diet when you have heartburn and indigestion along with digestive enzymes instead of you taking Prilosec (this can cause more heartburn, osteoporosis, and further imbalance the body).
  3. Naturopathic doctors will tell you herbs or whole clean food heals.
  4. A Naturopath will tell you to lower toxic chemicals in your home when you have constant headaches and allergies (these fragrances and chemicals cause toxic buildup in our cells that cause more allergies and headaches).
  5. Why aren’t you informed by your doctor that if you eat a grapefruit every day, it will lower your blood pressure naturally and you don’t need it (this is why a person can’t eat it while on blood pressure meds)?
  6. Why doesn’t your doctor tell you to take activated charcoal for headaches, bloating/gas, skin issues, colds, and food poisoning (activated charcoal bonds waste/toxins for the removal from the body)?
  7. Why don’t doctors tell you about herbs and herbal teas to support immune and digestive functions (different herbs help different organs do their jobs to keep the body healthy)?
  8. Why isn’t your doctor suggesting that you take a probiotic daily (this supports immune function, helps clean and balance the bowel, helps regulate absorption and elimination, and keeps colds and allergies at bay)?
  9. Why don’t your doctors provide you with any information on your vaccines before you inject yourself or your child (they don’t disclose that there are aborted baby cells, cow cells, African monkey cells, and dog cells, along with many other horrible adjuvants like mercury and aluminum and formaldehyde)?
  10. Why don’t doctors create diet/lifestyle plans for patients instead of offering a pill (diet and lifestyle choices are 90+% of all illnesses)?
  11. Why don’t doctors tell you to take supplements to boost your health prior to becoming sick and then they recommend (supplements/herbs/tinctures that can all prevent illness by boosting immune function and supporting organs with their natural functions)?
  12. Why don’t doctors teach you that your emotions store in your physical body and can cause you mental anguish, instead of they say you need an (emotions can play a very significant role in our total health, and without tools to help navigate our emotions we can easily become physically ill)?
  13. Why don’t doctors tell you when they take a whole organ from your body, that you’re still going to suffer, you just will suffer in a new way (organs are critical which is why God put them in our body, we need them to function, and most organs can be healed completely without removing anything)?
  14. Why don’t doctors take a real role in helping people to live better lives? Why do they set up these protocols of pills that most of them wouldn’t even take? Why aren’t we being helped to be healthy before we get sick?

If you have a doctor that listens to your concerns and does this, count yourself blessed!

Depending on what you are learning or hearing from your doctor, you may need to find a different one. Do your research on all medications and vaccines before subjecting yourself or your children. Do the research on all doctors before you meet with them or heed their advice. If you would like safer options to your health schedule a free Wellness Strategy Session to learn more.

Traditional Naturopaths do not treat diagnose or cure a disease but help you balance your body and reduce stress.

sage powers of pq heart with book mental fitness coach positive intelligence naturopath gut health

5 Sage Powers

The key to positive intelligence is the 5 Sage Powers. The concept of positive intelligence helps us measure our PQ or level of happiness and success. You can take the assessment to learn yours. Positive Intelligence is based on the best-selling book by Shirzad Chamine. His book discusses why only 20% of teams and individuals achieve their true potential.

As a traditional Naturopath, I understand the correlation between emotional stress and disease or imbalances in our health. Your sage represents the deeper and wiser part of you. The essence of who God created you to be. The sage perspective is finding the gift or opportunity in any challenge. It has access to five great powers of your mind and you can tap into these powers to meet any challenge.

1. Empathy – showing appreciation, compassion, and forgiveness. Having empathy for oneself is our biggest challenge thanks to your judge.

2. Explore – Looking at issues with curiosity, openness, wonder, and fascination. This helps with problem-solving. Most of us start trying to solve a problem before exploring it, which is typically premature. Your judge, stickler, hyper-achiever, or controller will always try to step in.  Exploring is critical for learning from past failures.

3. Innovate – Always ask…”What’s a whole new way to do this?” Look for a job, lose weight, and get healthy. Thinking “I’ve tried everything” is not the truth. The judge will start evaluating before you have fully brainstormed. No evaluation should occur during this phase.  Write out all the ideas, no matter how crazy, and end with the power game called Yes, And.  After each idea, you say, “Yes, and what I love about that idea is…”

4. Navigate – when you need to choose between multiple options, connect them with your values, purpose, or meaning. Take time now if you have not identified your values. It’s the compass for how you live daily.

5. Activate – move into pure, laser-focused, action, not distracted by saboteurs. When you know it’s time to take action, do not allow procrastination, distraction, or interference with saboteurs.

Here are some examples of what or who gets in our way.

  1. The Judge wastes time by causing fear, stress, anger, disappointment or shame while you are taking action.
  2. Avoider & Restless – avoid dealing with painful situations
  3. Controller & Stickler – cause actions to be rigid, limiting your contribution to others
  4. Hyper Achiever feels action is only focused on achievement-oriented objective
  5. Hyper Rational has you miss the emotional signals from your self and others. So analytical to your demise.
  6. The Victim convinces you to remain inactive to ensure you will become a victim and prove it right.
  7. The Pleaser is focused on making others happy, which may have nothing to do with the goal.
  8. Hyper Vigilant wastes enormous amounts of time and energy worrying about contingencies and creating anxiety from unwarranted risks

Natural Solutions to Psoriasis

If you are searching for natural solutions to psoriasis, there is hope. I’ve seen dramatic improvements with clients by incorporating dietary changes and enzyme therapy. Don’t let anyone lead you to believe that medication is the only answer.

What is Psoriasis?

Psoriasis is identified by excessive cell replication. In affected areas, cells reproduce at 1000 times
the normal rate, exceeding even the rate of skin cancer. Normal skin regenerates itself every 28 days. In
psoriasis, this process occurs every 3 to 4 days. As the skin reproduces new cells at this rate, the
the area becomes red and inflamed and can rise to three times its normal thickness.

There are different forms of psoriasis, but all involve scaly red patches in various shapes. The patches can
appear on the scalp, knees, elbows, buttocks, and sites of trauma, but there are cases in which the entire
body is involved. Typically, psoriasis begins with a small scaly spot that does not heal. Psoriasis can also
affect the nail beds.

Psoriasis is the fourth most common skin disease in the US after acne, warts, and eczema. In 50% of
people with it, there is a family history of psoriasis. People with psoriasis have a higher-than-average rate of rheumatoid arthritis. About one person in 20 with psoriasis has some form of arthritis, and about one in 20 with arthritis has psoriasis. It can manifest at any age but the peak onset occurs between 15 and 35 years. However, it can begin as early as three years of age and as late as 55.

What causes psoriasis?

The cause of psoriasis has not been determined, but the factors associated with it include food, allergies,
metabolic issues, liver, and colon problems, hyper or hypo, thyroidism, and stress.

As with most health issues diet plays a major role.

Germany had a high incidence of psoriasis prior to World War II. During the war, the disease nearly
disappeared when foods, notably Sugar, were in short supply. After the war, as the economy recovered in
food supplies, and returned to normal, psoriasis came back.

Specific metabolic factors have been linked to psoriases, such as abnormal fatty acid metabolism, elevated
levels of homocysteine in the blood, hypothyroidism, and abnormal elimination of toxins. Structural
problems and nutritional factors can also contribute to the issue.

According to John Pagano, DC, author of Healing Psoriasis, “psoriasis is the external manifestation of the
body’s attempt to eliminate internal toxins, out of accumulated in the lymphatic’s, and bloodstream by
seeping through the intestinal walls.“ The body’s elimination system, primarily the liver and the kidneys,
try to filter out these toxins. When the liver is overloaded, toxins are eliminated through the skin. as the
toxins accumulate, psoriasis begins to develop.

Undigested food can escalate skin issues, but psoriasis is aggravated by certain foods in particular. These
include undigested proteins, vegetables from the nightshade family, such as eggplant, tomatoes and
peppers, refined, sugar, pork, and alcohol. Bacteria can convert partially digested proteins into toxic
substances which contribute to excessive cell proliferation and psoriasis.

Natural Solutions to Psoriasis

How to eliminate or reduce the symptoms

Enzyme formulas, herbal remedies, and topical creams can all support reducing or eliminating the
symptoms of psoriasis.

A diet of whole, clean, unprocessed foods and no refined or synthetic foods is key. Some even suggest a
vegetarian diet, while others believe that organic meat, with the exception of pork, is acceptable.  If you have psoriasis and arthritis, it is best to avoid the nightshade family of foods. Sugar and alcohol are known to aggravate psoriasis.

Enzyme therapy

Since this is a digestion issue, enzymes are a great resource to alleviate and heal the body. However, getting the right enzyme is key. The enzyme to use for psoriasis depends on the individual, their digestive needs, and their symptoms. Some may
require more protease and others more lipase or cellulase. Some may be sugar intolerant. The best way to find out is to utilize digestive health testing.  One pattern that is common for those with psoriasis is hypothyroidism.

Herbal remedies

Some herbs can support the reduced symptoms of psoriasis. These include burdock root, milk thistle, cleavers, red clover, Oregon grape root, saffron, and slippery elm. Please work with a Naturopath or herbalist before adding these.

Emotional Roots of psoriasis

Since the majority of our health issues stem from our emotions, we must consider the underlying issues. Psoriasis has a root of emotional insecurity, fear of being hurt, grief, depression, or anxiety. To learn more about the emotional and physical connections of health, I recommend Craig Miller’s work and book, Breaking Emotional Barriers to Healing.

Essential oils

Tea tree oil (melaleuca alterfolia) can be used to relieve skin and mucous membranes issues as well. It
also contains antiseptic, antibacterial, and germicidal properties. However, be sure you are using a pure source. Other essential oils that may help include lavender, bergamot, and helichrysum.

If you suffer with skin issues and found natural solutions, I’d love to hear what worked for you. However, if you still are, know there is hope and I’d love to help. You can schedule a complimentary phone chat or text us at 843-203-8003.

2 Simple Ways to Love Your Body

Love Yourself HeartSo often, we get caught up in loving everyone else—our kids, our spouse, our family and friends—that we forget to love ourself.

Take a moment and visualize how that would look—if you loved yourself. How would your outside look? How would your inside look?

What if I told you two simple things you could do to love yourself and change your overall appearance from the inside out? Would you do it?

The two simple changes you will need to make involve eliminating genetically modified foods and increasing your intake of whole, clean foods, such as fruits and vegetables.

Stop eating genetically modified foods because these foods are linked to weight gain, cancer and other health related illnesses. Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) are plants or animals that have been altered from the original state of the plant or animal and processed into our food. GMOs are found in everything from canned soups to baby formula! In fact, Brian Stoffel wrote an article that details “10 Foods You’ll Have to Give Up to Avoid Eating GMOs.” This article is alarming to say the least.

According to nongmoproject.org, “In the U.S., GMOs are in as much as 80% of conventional processed food. In the U.S., the government has approved GMOs based on studies conducted by the same corporations that created them and profit from their sale. ” This is a scary statistic and practice by our own government, not to mention a deceptive practice given the fact that companies are not mandated to include GMO’s on product ingredient labels. Furthermore, it is embarrassing that more than 60 other developed countries have either put a complete ban on GMOs or strong restrictions. Personally, I am not feeling the love of my country when it comes to GMOs!

According to greenamerica.org, there are nine GMOs to avoid:

  • Soy
  • Cottonseed
  • Corn
  • Canola Oil
  • U.S. Papaya
  • Alfalfa
  • Sugar Beets
  • Milk
  • Aspartame

Look for the NONGMO Project Verified stamp

To be sure your food and products are free of GMO’s, look for the verified label.

Eat more whole, clean foods and experience the freedom and physical and mental transformation of powerful nutrients, vitamins, minerals, fiber and beneficial fats. Your body was created for whole, clean food, so why not give your body what it needs to thrive! The best way to reduce your risk of disease is to eat healthy, and fruits and vegetables are two key food groups known to contribute to better health. Be mindful, though, of fruits and vegetables that may contain harmful pesticides. According to the environmental working group (EWG), there are vegetables and fruits that you should consider buying only organic.

The Clean 15 (the lowest in pesticides): Avocados, Sweet Corn, Pineapples, Cabbage, Sweet Peas (frozen), Onions, Asparagus, Mangos, Papayas, Kiwis, Eggplant, Grapefruit, Cantaloupe, Cauliflower, and Sweet Potatoes

The Dirty Dozen (Buy these Organic): Apples, Peaches, Nectarines, Strawberries, Grapes, Celery, Spinach, Sweet Bell Peppers, Cucumbers, Cherry Tomatoes, Snap Peas (imported), Potatoes. PLUS Hot Peppers, Kale, and Collard Greens

In closing, I pray you will choose to love yourself by giving up foods containing GMOs. Experience the freedom of health and wellness that whole, clean foods will provide you.

8 Favorite Healthy Valentine’s Day Gifts

8 Favorite Healthy Valentine’s Day Gifts to Give your loved ones gifts that keep on giving

Since Valentine’s Day is known for the chocolate and/or sugar, we felt it was an appropriate time to share healthier ideas for gift-giving. Sugar is the culprit in creating inflammation in the body, along with suppressing the immune system and disrupting gut flora. The following gifts can benefit every aspect of a person’s life and continue giving long after February 14. These are all products I use on a daily basis and attribute them to my natural solution to slow the aging process and increased vitality.

  1. Healy Microcurrent Wearable.  How do I love my Healy, let me count the ways. It speaks to our cells. It sends a message to correct the interruptions, stress, toxins, nutritional deficiencies, and excesses. It provides frequencies to target areas to correct the imbalances. This allows your body to restore to the correct frequency. Healy has 144,000 frequencies to counteract or balance stressors. From a technical perspective, Healy is a microcurrent medical device cleared by the FDA for local relief of acute, chronic, and arthritis pain and muscle soreness due to overexertion. Healy also has non-medical applications that use individualized frequencies to help balance your mind and body and relieve stress in support of wellness.  Schedule a virtual no-cost demo or watch the interactive presentation. You can go directly to my website for Healy product pricing if you would like to learn more.
  2.  Modere Clean Living products. Women can come into contact with hundreds of toxic chemicals before they leave their home from their lotion, deodorant, and makeup. These endocrine (hormone) disruptors have been linked to many forms of cancer. Spending a few extra pennies on your personal care products for yourself, teenagers, and loved ones will pay off long term and can be one more step to help prevent cancer.
  3. Essential Oils. I first started using essential oils for the emotional benefits with great results. My favorites are the citrus oils such as lemon or wild orange for under $15 that have mood uplifting properties.  Essential oils, if pure, are the lifeblood of a plant that supports the respiratory system as well as cognitive function. Essential oils can be used topically, aromatically (diffuser), or externally with some self-education.
    Aromatherapy Essential Oil Diffuser

    Aromatherapy Essential Oil Diffuser

  4. Fresh Organic Fruit Baskets. Our favorite supplier of citrus fruit is The Orange Shoppe. They pick them fresh and ship them directly to you. The quality exceeds anything store-bought and eating them over a sink is recommended due to the juiciness factor! You can mix different varieties of oranges and grapefruit for a practical, nutrient-dense gift. This is the perfect gift for those living in cold climates as they are a slice of sunshine that most of us haven’t seen for a while in February.
  5. Infrared (FIR) pad. Infrared heat is healing heat, unlike conventional heating pads. Infrared pads can simply warm the body internally on chilly winter nights, to providing relief from colds, flu, aches, pains, and fever. The HTE model has a sixty-minute timer so you can safely use it for children and the elderly without worrying about burning.  The average cost is $200.
  6. Vitamix Food Processor/Blender. I have owned all the other models as well as juicers and none hold a candle to the speed and ability to break down food into the small particle size like the Vitamix. Green smoothies should be a daily part of your diet so you need a machine with a powerful motor that only Vitamix offers.  Like any product, you get what you pay for. The Vitamix carries a 7-year warranty.  Prices start as low as $399 up to $649. However, I’ve found the mid-priced unit ($449) has served our family well for almost 9 years.
  7. Chi Machine. The Chi Machine has helped me, my family, and our clients with our wellness goals. It is the simplest form of stress reduction and all you have to do is lay flat and relax. Prices range from $449-$549 but be sure and contact us for monthly special offers and discounts.
  8. B Renewed Wellness Gift Certificate – You can purchase a gift certificate in $25 increments for a friend, family, or loved one.  It’s a gift that truly shows you care. Email us at info@brenewed or text/call 812-461-8922. You can even book them a Wellness Strategy Session here!

Our entire focus is on education, empowerment, and prevention. Our wish for you this Valentine’s and every day is to live life with vitality and reduced stress in all areas, including physical, emotional, and nutritional (excesses and deficiencies). Take time to educate yourself because an ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure today.

Worried About the Mystery Virus? Don’t Panic…Prepare!

Chances are you have heard about the mystery virus that is now in at least 18 states and has prompted the hospitalization of thousands of young children with respiratory symptoms, including asthma-like breathing problems. Today, I will shed some light on what this “mystery” is, and what you can do to prepare yourself and your family for this and other viruses (e.g. colds and flu) that take hold this time of year.

According to Web MD, the “mystery virus” virus is known as Enterovirus D68. It was first identified in this country in 1962. Several sources like Web MD and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), report that they don’t know why Enterovirus D68 is on the rise this year. Additionally, they can’t tell us why this hardy virus has presented with an intensified impact on the lungs; especially in children that already have a history of asthma.

What we do know, is that it starts out as a typical cold with a runny nose, sneezing, and then coughing. Typically the wheezing and breathing difficulties start fairly soon; often two or three days from the onset of cold-like symptoms. While a fever can be part of this illness, at the present time, it has been reported that only 25-30% of children who end up being diagnosed with this virus actually experienced fever as a symptom. EV-D68 is spread by coming in contact with an infected person’s saliva, nasal secretions, or sputum. It appears that older people may have immunity to this virus due to previous exposures to it. That is one reason why this is being seen predominantly in children. If there is a concern about your child’s symptoms, seek appropriate medical attention promptly, because as of early October, 2 children have died from complications of this virus, and at least ten have experienced paralysis.

What can we do for prevention?

Here are a few prevention strategies that have helped reduce my occurrence of viruses, colds, and flu.

  • Cut the junk out of your diet and the diets of those you love. Sugar suppresses the immune system’s ability to function at the cellular level.
  • Eat more whole, clean foods. Consider taking a “superfood” like Modere Phytogreens.
  • Drink plenty of purified water.
  • Obtain the recommended 7-9 hours of sleep nightly.
  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water. Spend enough time lathering and rinsing that you can sing “The Happy Birthday Song” before you dry them. Note: It is NOT recommended to use hand sanitizers to achieve the results you need. Chemical hand sanitizers can destroy the necessary good bacteria.
  • Do not allow the sharing of cups and utensils.
  • Encourage coughing into a tissue (and discarding it); or, if one is not available, people can cough into the crook of their arm.

Are You Trapped? Part 1 How to Change a Disease Mindset

I was terrified.  I could hear scratching and digging. I couldn’t figure out where it was coming from. Thoughts of , “this is my imagination” were resolved when my cat perked up her ears as well.

I called my husband at work as this unknown creature sounded huge. Something was desperately attempting to find its way out and it was coming from under my kitchen cabinets. I was terrified to open the door for fear of what would be revealed or lunge out at me.  The scratching and digging seemed to go on for hours and it continued over several days.

My husband finally concluded  it was simply a mouse trapped between the kitchen and my office wall. This was  hard for me to bear as I was the one who used to flip mouse traps in my parents home so they wouldn’t be killed.  I love animals and thought this was such a cruel fate for one of God’s creatures.

In a desperate attempt to help it, I found myself tapping on the wall telling it to find the exit…follow the light.  It obviously came in through the crawl space so it had a way out if I could only communicate to it. I was thinking, don’t stay trapped because if you do, you are going to die an early, slow and possibly painful death.

Then I started to think, so many people are “trapped” and they don’t even know it.  They are sick, diagnosed with disease or still trying to figure out their health issues and clinging to hope from the medical community.  They are experiencing pain,  discomfort and possibly a slow painful debilitating life.  They could truly die a premature and painful death.  I know this but hearing people share their misery, but I can’t seem to save them.

They are trapped in a mindset that there is nothing they can do or should do. They are trapped in the mindset that prescriptions and over the counter medications are helping them to “get better”. Or  trapped in belief that if they get sick, someone else will take care of it.

Just like the mouse stuck in the wall, they don’t know where the opening is or how to escape their circumstances. I’m knocking on the walls trying to give them direction but they can’t hear me.

It seems that the language I’m communicating in doesn’t make sense.  All they understand is that when I’m sick:

  1. I’ll depend on doctors to take care of it. Or…
  2. I’ll remain in denial and ignore the signs/ symptoms altogether. Or…
  3. I’ll suppress the symptoms with over the counter medications or prescriptions thinking I’m making things better (while not knowing the damage these “fixes” may incur long term).

Most of sickness and disease is an imbalance in the body.  It is an overabundance of toxins and a deficiency of nutrients. God and nature have a perfect internal mechanism to rid body of toxins through fever, mucous etc. The body is able to heal itself given the appropriate resources.

However, when we suppress the natural detox process we are driving toxins back into our weakest organs. The cold is the beginning of all chronic disease. This is where it all starts and can develop into hay fever then asthma and possibly lead us to cancer from this weakened state.

Symptoms are a perfect message to heed.  Listen to what body is saying.  The body is out of balance if you are experiencing signs and symptoms. If you act now and do not ignore your bodies message, you can prevent long-term detrimental health issues like chronic disease and cancer.
